How do i work out how much John gets paid every fortnight?

1 year = 52 weeks (this is a FACT)
1 year = $85000
52 weeks = $85000
1 fortnight = 2 weeks
2 weeks = ($85000 / 52) *2
2 weeks = $3269.23
Since a fortnight is every two weeks, just divide the annual salary of $85,000 by 26 (one-half of the 52 weeks in a year).
